Clemons temperature section

In this discussion we analyzed the differences in temperature (as well as wind speed and light)  on the stairs leading down along the outside of Clemons Library.  We recorded our personal estimates of temperature and compared them to the more accurate measurements form the various instruments.  My partner and I ended up estimating all the temperatures roughly 10 degrees off what they actually were, but it was interesting to see such vast changes in temperature over such a small area.  It was especially fascinating to see how the path of the sun from east to west determined which areas were cooler than others because of prolonged shade.  Overall, though this was a simple exercise it allowed us to see a familiar place in a very different way, and how the systems talked about in lecture apply to the world around us.
